Ricky Donnell Freeway Rick Ross
The Origin Story

From Unable to Read to Learning for Life.
From Harm to Rebuilding.

Ricky Donnell "Freeway Rick" Ross grew up in South Central Los Angeles and left school unable to read or write.

He became a major cocaine trafficker. Whatever skill it took to build that operation, the work was illegal and harmed the same communities he came from. That history is part of the story, not a business model to celebrate.

In 1996, Rick received a life sentence. It was later reduced, and he was released in 2009. In prison, a cellmate helped him begin sounding out words. He kept studying, learned to read, and discovered what education could change.

Today, Rick uses the story to speak about literacy, second chances, and legitimate business. FREEWAYCODE carries that learning-first idea forward: understand one useful method, apply it carefully, and keep building from there.
